PRACTICE: Mirror Work

The practice is to gaze into your own eyes in the mirror while moving your body, especially in spiral motions. Your eyes are portals and the music and movement are helping clear what is stagnant within your energy system, calling forth the divine spirit that lives within us all to clear out the false stories and feelings that no longer serve you. Let it go! If tears come, let them. If a growl or scream comes, allow it. If you notice that you’re burping or your stomach is growling, that is the nervous system resetting and part of moving and releasing the stuck energy. Let it move:) You may see images in the mirror, ancestors’ faces or tattoos on your face or body, yourself at different ages. This is a sign that the energy is moving. Allow ALL of it to be present as you move. Set a commitment to practice for 10 minutes each time you feel the call. Even if you just sit there. STAY with yourself. Be willing to bear witness to your own annoyance, your own grief, your own loneliness, your own anxiety and your own resurrection.

OPENING SONG: Queendom (Malka Russell)

RELEASING SONG: Into This Body (Heather Christie)

CLOSING SONG: Hear Me Roar (Scott Nice, Siren & Seer, Heather Christie)`

"Before Eve, there was Lilith. She was made from God. Breathing, pulsing, alive. Not beneath Adam. Not behind him. Beside him. And when she refused to submit to something that dishonored her truth, she was not met. She was cast out. Rewritten as dangerous. Demonized. Distorted into something to control and something women should never become.

Lilith was never the problem. She was the part of the feminine that will not abandon herself to be chosen. So another woman was created. Eve. Soft, open, devoted, able to love, able to relate but separated from her eros. And this is where the distortion began. Men were never fulfilled by submission without soul. They feel it when a woman disconnects from her body to keep the peace. They love Eve, her warmth, her openness, her devotion. But they crave Lilith: her truth, her edge, her eros. They don’t want one. They want both.

But she was split. Be desired OR be real. Be soft OR be sovereign. Be the woman who is loved OR the woman who is free. Never both.

And this is how the Garden of Eden was lost. Not because of sin, but because of separation. Wholeness was fractured. Truth could no longer move freely through the feminine body. And WE are living the consequences of that split now. In our bodies. In our relationships. In a world at war with itself. Because when the feminine is divided at the root, humanity is divided at the root. We must become the place where Lilith and Eve meet, where truth speaks through the body.

This is the return of the feminine into the body: the reunion of innocence and eros. Where nothing inside you is exiled."
