I have a new romance for Hallmark airing this season, and it's called "Bramble House Christmas." It's sweet and heartfelt and costars the adorable David Hayden-Jones -- please check it out on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel, on Sunday, November 19th!!
This last year has been a whirlwind, so let’s use that energy to spin higher.
This is going to be the most amazing year. Stay tuned for lots of updates and at least FIVE new projects premiering this year!
My personal life has been going through some ups and downs, so as I navigate those murky waters, here are a few things that are putting a smile on my face:
I wrote an article for Move LifeStyle about how I’m goal setting and planning out the year ahead.
The book Yes Please! by Amy Poehler has been putting a smile on my face on tough days.
Salted caramel lattes from LaMill are rocking my socks!
This cozy cable cardigan is the perfect thing to wear when I’m curling up with said book and said latte.
My new film I Do I Do I Do comes out on the Hallmark Channel on Friday, February 6th and I’m incredibly proud of my work in this one! Hope you get a chance to catch it.
This weekend I’ll be in New York for two Thrilling Adventure Hour shows, at Bell House in Brooklyn on Saturday night,, October 11th!
And I will be at a few panels and signing and interviews over the course of the week, as well!
Hope to see you and meet you there!
On August 2nd I’ll be signing books after the Thrilling Adventure Hour at Largo. The show is sold out, but come on by to purchase a book and get it signed. Then in October, I’ll be at Bell House in Brooklyn for three live shows! I’m thrilled about this because we had an amazing turn out last time and I absolutely love NY. Click HERE to purchase tickets!
A four-minute 2014 compilation of my work over the past few years:
I’ve been performing with Thrilling Adventure Hour for the past 6 years, and although we’ve been traveling around the country recently (New York, Seattle, Chicago) and I’ve had a chance to meet a lot of you, so many more of you have yet to have the opportunity to see this funny stage show. We’ve just released the first episode of a new documentary web series that covers what life is like behind the scenes of TAH. Check it out:
You can subscribe to the Nerdist channel on YouTube to keep up with the newest episodes, or follow along here:
Writer, journalist, friend & fan Patrick Loubatiere, has just published an amazingly comprehensive biography of my life & career. I’m honored that he approached me with his desire to create this project and I"m so pleased with the results!! I shared tons of personal photos and anecdotes with him, which he assembled into a truly beautiful collection which is now for sale. Please support his hard work, if you’re interested in learning more about my life!! He did an extraordinary job!!
I’m often asked about my exercise regime, skin care, makeup products, all of those goodies, but the thing that I am asked most often is ‘what do you eat??’. Lynn Chen runs an awesome blog called The Actor’s Diet and this week I went down to her studio to appear on her podcast and chat all things food.
AND she even made coconut cupcakes, so we had a pretty damn good time. Click below to have your cake and eat it too:
It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of LearnVest—this aesthetically-pleasing financial site revolutionized my life this year by helping me get a grasp on my finances (yes, in my 30s—it takes that long for some of us!). Well, it turns out they’re fans of mine, too, and I’ve been asked to speak on a tastemaker panel at their Los Angeles event on September 24!! I am so thrilled to be a part of this event featuring several inspiring female entrepreneurs, and I hope you can come out and join us and say hello (and it’s only $25 if you pre-register!). Click past the jump to read a bit more about the event if you’re interested, and I’ll see you there!
Are you financially fearless? Well, what are you waiting for ...?!
Last year at LearnVest LIVE—our first-ever live event—nearly 1,000 LearnVesters spent an evening in NYC learning expert lifestyle and money tips from big names such as Cosmopolitan editor in chief Joanna Coles, “Top Chef’s” Gail Simmons and HGTV’s Genevieve Gorder.
The event was such a success that we’re thrilled to announce the return of LearnVest LIVE, sponsored by Fidelity Investments. This year, it gets even better—we’re taking our expert advice on the road.
Join us in New York City or Los Angeles for an evening of money advice from a LearnVest Planning Services certified financial planner™, lifestyle tips from more A-list tastemakers—and the opportunity to meet and mingle with your fellow LearnVesters.
This year, our theme is “Financially Fearless,” and we know you’re ready for that challenge. So come. Bring your friends. Learn. And be inspired.
