Hi, all!
I just got back from Portland, OR, visiting my sister. One of my FAVORITE spots was the Ace Hotel downtown—sigh. The rooms are decorated like super-artsy dorm spaces & the lobby was funky, adorable, and I just completely fell in love with it. I will definitely be staying there on my next visit!!

How I spent my 2010 New Years…
This year, we decided to spend this always-pressure-filled holiday holed up in our mountain cabin with a group of 12 friends. That meant pajamas, whoo-hoo! And lots of champagne, of course. And silly string. And a couple games of Mafia, Celebrity, & Pictionary-Telephone (our new favorite). Most comfortable New Years celebration ever. ![]()
I decorated a little bit, and everyone contributed to the food. We had smoked gouda fondue, an amazing turkey chili from Nina Manni, spanokopita from Tania Gonzales, red bell pepper crudites from Christina Cimellaro, divine 7-layer dip from Tara & Dave Matos… and some very sad cupcakes that I attempted to bake at high altitude. I am not any good at baking when I’m at sea level, so you can just imagine how they came out. And no, I will not be posting a picture of them, they’re too pathetic! However, the culinary highlight of the evening came around 3am, when I busted out the leftover cream cheese frosting, and paired it up with some graham crackers for dipping—heaven! YUM.
See below for party highlights… ![]()

I copied this idea from an old issue of Martha Stewart Magazine—you take silver or gold number stickers and individually number your champagne glasses, like a New Year’s countdown. It not only looks cute, but helps you keep track of your glass all night (very helpful on New Years!)!! Now if only I could locate numbers 3 and 6… they’ve gone missing since that night….

I had the ‘sparkle’ glass and a cute new pair of PJs… ![]()

Amir Talai just got engaged to his beautiful girlfriend Nina, so he was ready to welcome in a wonderful new year…

Cheers, Michael!

Tania celebrates the start of 2010 with a Vegas-style headpiece… tres chic…

Gatsby enjoyed a comfortable spot…

Nina insisted that we catch a pivotal episode of ‘Jersey Shore’...

...which led to a great need for more champagne….

...which led to the New Year being welcomed in with a very large supply of silly string! Too much fun—and too much clean up.

Our family in 2010.

From BestFriends.org:
An actress and a longtime supporter of Best Friends, Autumn Reeser is drumming up support for Best Friends this holiday season and urging her friends and fans to pitch in for the animals.
“If you’re still looking for holiday gifts, a great one is to sponsor a pet at Best Friends Animal Society!” she writes in a blog that she’s posted on her website and on her MySpace page. “For around $25, you (or a friend) can be an ‘angel’ to an animal in need. Last year I sponsored a beautiful golden retriever named Brooke as a gift to my little sister.”
